Brenen Riggs researches and advises utilities on a range of topics within Customer Energy Solutions. Before joining E Source, he spent six years at the Public Utilities Commission of Ohio, where he was responsible for the regulatory oversight of various utility programs, complex ratemaking proceedings, and analysis on a wide range of energy policy issues.
Brenen holds a bachelor’s degree in economics and is a candidate for a Master of Public Policy and Management, both from Ohio State University. It was during his time as a state regulator that he developed an appreciation for the intersection between utility business models, regulatory frameworks, and the energy transition. It was also where he developed a passion for helping utilities navigate these complexities to achieve a sustainable future.
