Claire Mills researches demand-side management (DSM) topics, including demand response and energy efficiency programs for electric and gas utilities. Before joining E Source, Claire worked at the Edison Electric Institute as an analyst for their Institute for Electric Innovation. She worked directly with the US investor-owned utilities on DSM projects, specifically focused on customer solutions.
Claire also worked as a research assistant for the Congressional Research Service in the energy policy section. In this role, she authored a report on electric utility disconnections. She holds a master’s in sustainable development from the University of Sussex and a bachelor’s in climate change from the University of East Anglia. While completing her master’s, she also worked as a utility transmission forester for FPL.
