In 2023, utilities placed a lot of strategic focus on equity issues. Numerous factors influenced this shift, including the federal government and regulatory bodies—and utilities themselves. With this shift in mind, we conducted two residential customer surveys that touched on equity issues and the utility’s role in equity. We explored the utility’s responsibility toward the environment and social justice, including the US government’s Justice40 initiative.
