We recently revealed the results and rankings from the 2019 E Source Review of North American Electric and Gas Company Residential Websites, so we compiled some high-level results in an easy-to-digest infographic. How does your website stack up?

Conducted every other year since 2002, the E Source Website Benchmark measures the user experience of utility websites accessed from mobile devices and desktop computers. The utilities with the most usable and accessible websites in the US and Canada in 2021 are PPL Electric Utilities and Exelon Utilities (based on ComEd’s website).

Utilities are faced with increasing pressure to cut costs while maintaining reliability and reducing risk. Most still approach age-old problems with tried-and-true solutions. They trim vegetation on a set schedule, they address gas-leak issues only when they become a problem, and they don’t plan proactively for predicted storms and their potential impacts.
