Join E Source for the launch call of our multiclient study to explore how utilities can use behavioral science to better engage income-qualified customers and unlock affordability. As affordability pressures grow, bill assistance and income-qualified demand-side management (DSM) programs often struggle to reach eligible customers and turn awareness into participation. This study will examine how behavior-based changes to program design, messaging, and the customer journey can reduce enrollment barriers and help customers access the support they need.

We’ll introduce the proposed research scope and approach, including utility benchmarking, customer research, and lessons from behavioral scientists and other industries. We’ll discuss how the study will translate those insights into opportunities to improve bill assistance and income-qualified DSM programs, including weatherization. The study will focus on customer engagement and affordability beyond energy savings alone. Utility professionals working in affordability, income-qualified DSM, and customer experience will learn what participation involves and how the study’s findings and collaborative workshop can inform their programs.

You’ll learn:

  • The scope and purpose of the multiclient study
  • Expectations and commitment from participating organizations
  • Current examples of behavioral efficiency research at E Source
