Business case development: Contact center impacts of prepay
This working session brings together members of the Prepay Energy Working Group (PEWG) to improve the business case model of prepay. First introduced by Itron, this business case was a potential tool to demonstrate the value of prepay. This first step looks at contact centers and prepay.

This is an E Source exchange. It’s an online conversation where you can share ideas on specific topics with other utility professionals. In this exchange, we’ll dicuss the business case model for prepay that was initially introduced by Itron to Prepay Energy Working Group (PEWG) members. Utility peers and solution providers will work together to identify the best ways to improve this model.
This exchange will cover:
- The original Itron model
- The impacts of prepay programs on utility contact centers
- Potential improvements to the business case
- Other suggestions and feedback on best steps moving forward
