The annual E Source Utility Ad Awards Contest is now open, and entries are being accepted until May 12, 2017. For the ninth year in a row, E Source will be recognizing and rewarding creative excellence in utility advertising.
E Source is looking for utility ads that generated results—such as increased brand awareness, website traffic, and program participation—while also being creative. The competition is open to any electric or gas utility located in the US or Canada, and the company encourages utility marketers or advertising agencies to submit their most effective and creative ads. This year, E Source will hand out awards for:
- Best Print Ad
- Best Outdoor Ad
- Best Broadcast Radio Ad
- Best Broadcast TV Ad
- Best Digital Display Ad
- Best Social Media Ad
- Best Event or Experiential Marketing
- Best Digital Streaming Content
- Best Overall Campaign—Investor-Owned Utility
- Best Overall Campaign—Non-Investor-Owned Utility

“We’re excited to offer two new award categories: Best Digital Streaming Content and Best Event or Experiential Marketing,” says Kym Wootton, vice president of Marketing for E Source. “Utilities continue to seek new and innovative ways to reach out to their customers and we can’t wait to see the entries in these areas.”
An independent group of leading creative directors, graphic designers, art directors, and writers will review and score the entries based on ad effectiveness, objectives, message, memorability, and creativity. E Source will announce the winners at the 2017 E Source Forum and publish their ads on the E Source website. Find winning ads from previous years at www.esource.com/adcontest-winners.
