The annual E Source Utility Ad Awards Contest is now open; entries are being accepted until May 6, 2016. For the eighth year in a row, E Source will be recognizing and rewarding creative excellence in utility advertising.
E Source is looking for utility ads that generated results—such as increased brand awareness, website traffic, and program participation—while also being creative. The competition is open to any electric or gas utility located in the US or Canada. Utility marketers or advertising agencies are encouraged to submit their most effective and creative ads. This year, awards will be given out in these categories:
- Print Ads (Business and Residential)
- Radio Ads
- Video/TV Ads
- Digital Ads
- Outdoor Ads
- Social Media Ads
- Best Overall Campaign for Investor-Owned Utility
- Best Overall Campaign for Non-Investor-Owned Utility
Full submission terms can be found at Utility Ad Awards Contest.
“Every year I look forward to seeing how utilities are pushing the envelope to attract their customers’ attention, whether through a humorous TV spot or an eye-catching billboard,” says Kym Wootton, vice president of marketing for E Source. “I’m particularly excited to seeing the advances in digital advertising, especially via social media.”
Winners in each category will be chosen based on a scoring process that includes criteria for ad effectiveness, objectives, message, memorability, and creativity. An independent group of leading creative directors, graphic designers, art directors, and writers will review and score the entries. Winning ads will be announced at the E Source Forum 2016 and will be posted on the E Source website.
The winning ads from previous years can be found at Utility Ad Awards Contest winners.
