Program Manager, Creative Services

The primary roles of the Program Manager will be to lead the Program Management Office, reporting to the Director of Creative Services, and to coordinate and monitor the multiple projects in E Source’s Project Portfolio. The Program Manager will be responsible for the creation and management of all processes and tools involved in program and project management. Because E Source has many different types of projects that span departments and resources, this person must be able to successfully communicate and coordinate efforts across departments and project types. An understanding of web/software development processes, PMP certification, and an understanding of business processes would be a plus.
The Program Manager must have previous experience working with and presenting to all levels of management and staff and be able to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences. It is also essential for this individual to possess strong verbal, written, organizational, and interpersonal communication skills.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Plan and design the Program Office
- Maintain awareness of changes in E Source business strategies and priorities to ensure that projects are aligned with department and company goals and business requirements; understand the needs of our business, the needs of our customers, and our technological options
- Define program governance; making sure to assess consistency with future planning, interactions with other programs/projects, and compliance with corporate standards (e.g. technology policies)
- Create and manage a project portfolio scoring system to prioritize all projects in the program; provide recommendations on projects and project priorities
- Manage our New Initiatives process as well as existing or backlog projects already in the portfolio, with heavy involvement in project kickoffs of all kinds
- Manage program with multiple enterprise-wide projects, including but not limited to deliverables, consulting, marketing, initiatives, and web/software development projects; work closely with internal Owners and Stakeholders to coordinate projects and meet objectives and deadlines
- Work with the Director of Creative Services and other managers to keep flow of projects at a steady pace; requires continual evaluation of priorities and resource availability
- Proactively enter projects in project management system and monitor all programs/projects; resolve issues, manage interdependencies, and initiate corrective actions as appropriate; assign and schedule resources to projects as needed
- Manage program and project status communications
- Help in providing resources and other assistance to individual project managers when you are not the assigned project manager
- Provide training and develop policies, methodologies, and templates for individual project managers and the company as a whole
- Provide enterprise project management software support and suggestions; we are currently using Project Insight as that tool
- Be heavily involved in the project initiations, kickoffs, and closures
- Provide reporting solutions and reports for all needed metrics at the project level, program level, and/or the administrative level
- Manage the Program Office Group PMO expense budget
- Demonstrate flexibility and ingenuity in problem-solving; offer ideas for innovation within and across internal client groups
- Be willing and able to take direction as well as give direction effectively and efficiently
- Stay abreast of changes in PM techniques and best practices
- Perform other tasks as requested by manager
Qualifications
- BA/BS, preferably in project management and/or program management or other related fields
- 2 to 5 years minimum on-the-job project or program management experience, preferably in a multiple-department or multiple-team environment; IT/web/software environments are a plus
- PMP certification is a plus
- Solid understanding of core PMO, PMP, and PPM principles; should be evident in any prior experience and/or education
- Knowledge of techniques for planning, monitoring, and controlling programs and projects
- Experience with Project Insight is a plus
- Experience in managing single projects as well as multiple concurrent projects and/or a suite of multiple programs, including budget and resource allocation
- Extensive experience with Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
- Strong organization, leadership, interpersonal, communication, and computer skills are a must
- Ability to investigate, learn, and implement new technologies and procedures to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of our processes
- A working knowledge of web development processes, publishing processes, and consulting processes is a plus
- Ability to document project requirements is a must
- Ability to create functional spec documents is a plus
- The ability to lead and guide members of different project teams, regardless of the department or organizational level of those members

Senior Associate, Energy Market and Price Projection Specialist, Research

E Source is hiring an Energy Market and Price Projection Specialist. This position will primarily be tasked with conducting research on retail electricity price drivers including fuel- and nonfuel-related events; working on our retail rate forecast model including entering inputs, running the model, output analysis, and back-testing outputs; conducting research on rate case activity across the U.S.; conducting primary and secondary research on generation fuels; running models and delivering information to clients; conducting energy market research; preparing client presentations; and performing many other energy analytics functions.
We’re seeking a well-rounded candidate with the right mix of experience in primary and secondary energy research; energy economics; supply-side analysis; energy pricing analysis for both retail and wholesale electricity; fuel economics for natural gas, coal, nuclear, and renewable fuels; rate case interpretation and analysis; energy regulatory processes at the federal and state level; supply and demand forecast modeling; price forecast modeling; and statistical analysis.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Research U.S. electric and gas utility regulations, rates, tariff models, market rules, and public utility commission actions via direct data feeds, as well as by telephone and Internet to populate and maintain a database and forecasting system
- Update tariff models for electricity and natural gas
- Conduct research and provide analysis of generation fuels markets, including price dynamics
- Handle ongoing data acquisition and entry, as well as periodic requests for data retrieval
- Provide analysis of retail electricity price behavior, rate case activity, and regulatory effects on retail electric prices
- Model future retail electricity and gas prices
- Develop or contribute to responses to Member Inquiries, providing complete and accurate information that generates a positive customer response
- Create client presentations on various aspects of the energy industry
- Help clients to understand retail electricity price projections, dynamics, and impacts
- Participate in new product development
- Work with E Source team members to facilitate access to and use of information
- Perform effectively as an individual and as a cooperative and effective member of a team serving multiple internal/external clients
- Perform research, analysis, and other related tasks as requested
Qualifications
- Five years of experience with retail electricity and natural gas pricing analysis and/or wholesale electricity generation analysis
- Ability to assist in advanced modeling to include wholesale price projections, portfolio value at-risk analysis, portfolio risk optimization under uncertainty, and other statistical modeling is required
- Motivation to learn and grow within a team environment
- Expert knowledge of Microsoft Excel
- Experience using Microsoft Access
- Experience with statistical modeling methods
- Superior written and verbal communication skills

Senior Product Manager, Member Services

Our Member Services group is primarily responsible for the retention of E Source business through account management and product management. The Member Services group is looking for a highly motivated and experienced senior product manager. This position will provide primary support and management for the E Source Residential Market Service. The senior product manager will need to possess excellent account management and customer service skills as well as have experience in the energy industry and consumer market. Preference will be given to qualified candidates who have worked at an energy utility and who have experience in residential energy marketing and demand-side management (DSM) programs. Work experience in consumer marketing, information advisory services, or green energy is also acceptable. Salary is commensurate with experience.
This position includes helping utilities focus on advanced marketing techniques (segmentation, marketing, market research, channels and outreach, messaging, and advertising) to better serve their residential market. There is ample opportunity for travel to meet with customers and to attend and present at national conferences.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
Customer account management
- Build and retain revenues and customers through regular and meaningful contact with members via telephone, at conferences, in person, and via e-mail
- Build customer relationships and understand customer needs
- Maintain and increase customer satisfaction
- Expand customers’ use of their existing E Source services
- Help create tailored solutions for customers
Product management
- Provide day-to-day service management
- Manage customer content, including selecting topics for deliverables and guiding the teams that create informational products
- Promote product components to clients through media channels

- Participate in product planning and development
- Work with event planners to promote events and recruit attendees
Industry outreach and market development

- Provide the sales team with support for new customers
Qualifications
- At least three years of utility industry experience in either DSM or marketing
- A four-year college degree; graduate degree desirable
- Strong public speaking, writing, and communications skills
- Superior interpersonal skills
- A highly organized, self-motivated idea generator
- Willingness to be flexible
- Ability to travel up to 20 percent of the time within the U.S. and Canada
