Articles in this issue of E NEWS include:

“Age and Self-Service Energy Bill Payment.” Among the stories told by the data E Source gathered for our Market Research Study on self-service is the one about the changing ways energy customers pay their bills. With the constant stress on both serving utility customers at lower cost and using expensive call center agent time wisely, engaging customers in self-service bill-paying has become an increasingly urgent effort at many utilities. We used 20-minute telephone interviews to ask household bill-payers in 1,000 residential households in the U.S. and Canada about their self-service preferences.

“Helping Your Large Customers Understand Their Carbon Footprint.” Many large customers are finding that they need to do emissions inventories and are turning to their utilities for help. E Source has found that a basic greenhouse gas inventory—which can be refined later as needed to fit the needs of specific voluntary programs or other reporting requirements—can be completed in five easy steps.

"Ask E Source" answers the question:

  • What improvements in program enrollment can utilities expect to see from offering financing for energy-efficient products?
