Energy Improvement and Extension Act of 2008
The Energy Improvement and Extension Act of 2008 updates the tax credits for manufacturers of energy-efficient appliances produced in the U.S. from 2008 through 2010. It increases the standards and associated tax credit amounts for dishwashers, clothes washers, and refrigerators based on their level of efficiency and year of manufacture. This should help promote the production of more efficient appliances in the marketplace for consumers to choose from. Utilities may want to review these changes and align their tiers of rebate and incentive amounts with these standards.
