This gathering gives first-time Forum attendees a chance to connect with peers and learn how to get the most out of their Forum experience.

3:30 - 6:00 p.m.     Afternoon Tours & Activities
Must register in advance

  • Tutankhamun: The Golden King and the Great Pharaohs exhibit at the Denver Art Museum, the exhibition’s only stop in the Rocky Mountain West. The exhibition features 50 objects from the tomb of Tutankhamun as well as 80 ancient artifacts highlighting many of the most significant rulers of ancient Egypt. ($20 per person)

  • Denver Microbrew Tour. A two-hour guided walking tour in Denver's historic LoDo (lower downtown) area. Learn more about the history of beer, how it’s made, what the different types are, and why Denver has been called the “Napa Valley of Beer.” We’ll visit several microbreweries, taste beer at each one, and get a behind-the-scenes tour of one of the breweries. ($25 per person)

  • Tattered Cover Tour. Experience the cozy atmosphere of this independent community bookstore, located in an historic LoDo warehouse building. We’ll tour the facility and then have time to people watch, enjoy some coffee, or curl up with a good book!

  • Walking Tour of LoDo. Explore lower downtown Denver and learn the history of the structures and something about their former occupants, including early movers and shakers as well as infamous con men, desperadoes, and ghosts.

6:30 p.m.     Exhibitor-Hosted Reception & Dinner
Browse the exhibitor booths while sampling food from stations offering distinctively different dishes. Embrace your inner rock star on the Guitar Hero stage or test your Wii skills with other attendees. There will also be a treasure chest with vendor giveaways and E Source will be giving away a Wii to some lucky participant. We’ll allow plenty of time around the fun for visiting with peers and E Source staff as well.

8:30 p.m.     Movie night—Screening of Carbon Nation
Attend the Forum debut of this documentary about climate change solutions. Whether you’re a believer, one who doubts the severity of climate change, or don’t buy it at all, you’ll find the other social, economic, and national security issues this compelling film explores to be of interest. Craig Sieben, president of Sieben Energy Associates and producer of Carbon Nation, will be available for Q&A at the conclusion of the screening.

Be the first to learn who the 2010 E Source Utility Print Ad Award Contest winners are and see the best print ads for utility programs and brand awareness. We’ll also be honoring the top three utilities for customer satisfaction and value from the 2010 E Source Gap and Priority Benchmark: A Survey of Large Business Customers.

3:30 - 6:00 p.m.     Afternoon Tours & Activities
Must register in advance

  • Bike Ride. Rent a bike and enjoy a group ride along some of Denver’s scenic bike paths, easily accessible from downtown. ($25 per person)
  • Coors Field Tour. Home to MLB’s Colorado Rockies, Coors Field sits in the heart of LoDo. You’ll visit the dugout; the visitor’s clubhouse; the press, club, and suite levels; and concourse areas. Learn the significance of the purple seats and find out what workers unearthed during construction of the ball park.

  • Museum of Contemporary Art (MCA). See the special exhibition Energy Effects: Art and Artifacts from the Landscape of Glorious Excess, which explores the relationship between energy and aesthetic power. MCA recently received Gold certification from the U.S. Green Building Council for its design, which includes a variety of energy-efficiency and sustainability measures.

  • Xcel Energy Tour. See why this is the first building in Colorado to be awarded LEED Platinum certification based on the LEED Core/Shell version 2.0.

  • Afternoon Run. Get some exercise and explore some of the many trails and paths that downtown Denver has to offer.

6:30 p.m.     Dine Around LoDo (a separate fee applies)
Join us as we take a culinary walking tour of Denver’s LoDo district and taste our way through several restaurants. This is a great way to sample the variety of restaurants that Denver has to offer!

10:00 p.m.     Wynkoop Brewing Co.
Come join your peers and E Source staff at Denver’s first brewpub for pool and darts. Housed in the historic J.S. Brown Mercantile building, the Wynkoop is credited with starting the revival of the LoDo section of Denver.
