E Source is pleased to announce the launch of the 2011 Utility Ad Awards Contest. Submissions will be accepted until June 1, 2011. The goal of this annual contest, now in its third year, is to recognize and reward creative excellence in utility advertising.
This competition is open to any electric or gas utility located in the U.S. or Canada. Advertising agencies or related organizations may submit on behalf of a client utility. A full list of submission terms can be found at www.esource.com/adcontest2011.
E Source is looking for utility ads that have generated outstanding results while delivering a clear message and being visually appealing. This year, awards will be given out in more categories than in previous years. The categories are Print Ads, Radio Ads, TV Ads, Viral or Online Videos, and Ad Campaigns.
“Last year we focused on print ads, including those that ran in newspapers and magazines, on billboards, and as bill inserts,” said Wendy Bloechle, director of Marketing for E Source. “I’m excited that we’re including TV and video ads this year. Utilities are getting really creative using videos to motivate action and capture attention for their programs and services.”
Winners in each category will be chosen based on a scoring process that includes criteria for ad effectiveness, objectives, message, visual design, and creativity. An independent group of judges selected by E Source will review and score the entries. Winning ads will be announced at the 24th Annual E Source Forum and will be posted on the E Source web site.
